My teaching style is unique to each student's indivdual needs. I take time to recognize my students learning style and provide the need materials or teaching style based their needs. I prefer tutoring to working in a classroom because I can give each student the specialized one-on-one time they need to help not only keep them on track with their school's requirements, but also introduce them to better study habits that could help them excel in the classroom when they do return to school.

My work experience in industry and my intensive graduate academic training well positioned me for college level teaching. I taught a variety of management and finance courses including Introduction to Management, International Finance, International Management, Strategic Planning, Procurement, Accounting, and Systems Development as a full-time Assistant Professor at Merrimack College until I started a family and then taught part-time for many years. I have worked with younger children teaching simple arithmetic and with college students/recent grads teaching them auditing and accounting concepts. With younger children, I have used games, flash cards, and blocks to have them practice their math problems. I find this keeps a child energetic and enthusiastic. I am also very familiar with the "touch-point" system, an effective strategy in learning how to add numbers. Being young myself, I find that younger students can identify with me more and therefore get the most out of their extra tutoring time.
