A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching, I find it to be one of the most rewarding expeirences not only for the learner but for the teacher as well. Although my experience is with adult learners, I would welcome the opportunity to work with children. I had an opportunity to volunteer as a big sister for the BBBS organization and I really enjoyed the interaction between myself and my 5th grade mentee. I have been a playwright for the last ten years, which is why I chose to get my BA in writing. Being involved in extensive reading and writing programs in and out of school has given me a deep appreciation for words. Over the course of my education, I was fortunate enough to tutor several young students struggling with reading and writing, as well as weekly creative writing workshops with elementary students.
The satisfaction that comes from working with a student, one on one, who is struggling, and seeing them change from angry and insecure to confident and proud is immense.
