My teaching experience began during high school when I would help out at my church's Sunday School providing remedial services like handing out papers. Since then I have earned a bachelor's degree in finance and economics with ambitions to earn a PhD. During my undergraduate experience I tutored beginning accounting students for a couple hours a week aside from the usual work of helping classmates. As a tutor, I primarily held 1 on 1 appointments several days a week. I primarily tutored in all levels of chemistry from general to biochem and I also tutored in accounting due to the introductory course that I had. My work as a supplemental instructor was by far the most rewarding. My job was to attend the Nursing Chemistry lectures and to take notes and create my own worksheets based on the material. I then conducted 2 review sessions per week to help the students master the material.
I prefer an interactive teaching style where the student determines how much they get out of it. I generally will not give a student an answer but will help them along until they can answer the question for themselves, thus making them more independent learners.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that each child has their own special style of learning in which they succeed the best at. When I tutor students I take the time to get to know each student on an individual basis and as a unique person. I make it a priority to determine their learning style and use that to implement a plan. I try and understand the reason they are having problems in their studies and then execute a plan in which they can succeed. I create study guides, review questions, and sample test questions for the students as well.
