Generally I will try to ask questions to see which specific points a student needs assistance with and make sure they understand the material on a fundamental level. I also believe that practice and hands-on experiences teach the most, so there tends to be an emphasis on working through problems step-by-step than lecturing. Ultimately I am flexible, and can change my style and routine to accommodate the students' needs.
While at the University of Tulsa I have tutored in both math and chemistry, so I have experience with those subjects in particular. Though I received a bachelors in Psychology I was also pre-med, so I was required to take several heavy science courses as well. As such I am also proficient in several biological subjects.

I graduated from Northeastern State University in 2008 with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I have been teaching for a year at a public school. I have also tutored students in math and reading during a college course,and here at my current job as well. During college I took many science classes that were required for the Nursing program (which was my first major). I firmly believe that if a subject seems incomprehensible, nine times out of ten it is the professor and NOT the intelligence of the student. Likewise, I believe lack of effort or motivation also play a significant roll when a student performs poorly. My formula for success is simple, we work through the problems together, and repeat until the student can comfortably complete the problem on their own.
