Breaking step down till a layman can understand and I love to be interrupted with questions.
I have tutored math very often and over the course of helping others, I've learned the British ways of solving a math problem is extremely easy while the American ways are a bit confusing for the students. I could remember a day while working at Dollar Tree HQ in the Finance Department, a math problem arises and it took my supervisor 12 minutes while I solved it in 45 seconds. Don't risk your grade/money on mere paper qualifications

My teaching style relies heavily on feedback from the client. I try to have a phone call with a student to learn what they are having difficulty with but also what their professor might expect from them. Then I get a good sense of their personality to understand the best way to get ideas across to them. There are often roadblocks to learning such as personal hangups or self doubt that must be addressed. Other times it is just a matter of understanding what the person does or does not get.

A Little Bit About Me...

I like teaching people of various ages because I can relate to most anyone. Teaching math is all about wording the problem, theorem, technique, etc into words and terms that a student can understand. In most cases, I am able to do that for my students.
In February 1996 I started tutoring remedial math and accounting in the TCC, Virginia Beach Campus, tutor lab. As I took more courses, the subjects I tutored grew. When I transferred to Virginia Wesleyan I joined their tutor lab an continued tutoring math and business classes. Since I graduated in 2000 with my business degree I have taken several math classes at TCC, the highest being Calculus IV. In that time, I have tutored family, friends, fellow students (as I pursued higher math classes) and coworkers, usually working for the fun of math and to help out friends.
