My comments on tutoring SAT - Verbal : I have excellent strategies for interpreting and analyzing reading passages, building vocabulary, and teaching sentence structure (for sentence completion). I also did quite well on the Verbal portion of the SAT, so my methods are tried and tested!

I am a patient and understanding teacher. I enjoy fostering close relationships with my students so that I can cultivate my methods to best suit their learning style.

I love to teach and I get excited when I help a student whose performance was bad before I started teaching him/her but significantly improved after I started teaching them. I like to get to know the child and form a friendship with him or her. Once we develop a rapport it is easier for them to open up to me. When the comfort level is established we then develop a mutual-learning relationship, as I can learn from the student just as much as he or she can learn from me.

I have been a tutor since high school, when I taught my classmates as a way to earn money for a Nintendo.
