I am currently student teaching as an English as a Second Language teacher through the Masters program at Hamline University and will be applying for my teaching license in March, 2010. I have extensive experience working with non-native English speakers both inside and outside the classroom. I also have spent over 10 years studying French and spent a semester abroad in France, so I am familiar with all the aspects of language learning both as student and as a teacher. I have volunteered at Weaver Elementary in Maplewood,MN with ESL children in Kindergarten through fifth grade and I enjoy working with elementary students very much as well as any other students who need help with their language learning.

I embrace a unique passion for teaching children, especially for working with students on a one-on-one basis. I thrive on connecting with each student as an individual, and enhancing their academic lives in ways they may not get in other environments. I strive to "find" every child's gift, and celebrate it.
