I have worked as an English tutor for elementary Egyptian students attending a summer program. I have been working as a student athlete tutor for French and the honors program for the past 2 years with varying levels of frequency. I have mainly worked with one athlete who is studying French. I also worked with a Brazilian immigrant for a short time working to improve his English. I have studied ESL teaching (experience above). I have 4 years unpaid experience as a children's ministry coordinator and instructor. I planned lessons and taught children ages 2-12. Different teaching methods speak to different students, and sometimes a student simply needs a fresh and alternative introduction to subject material. Of course, that does not mean learning isn’t work; but part of growing up – and selecting a career – is learning that work can be enjoyable. I should mention that it is not my way to enforce memorization for the sake of it. If you understand concepts, that is much better. I always say “an example is the embodiment of a rule”.
