As tutors we must recognize their individual learning styles along with their strengths and weaknesses to help them succeed. Most children seem to learn best visually and kinesthetically. Through pre-testing, we can learn where the child needs to start instruction and to look for gaps in learning that often cause confusion interfering with their ability to learn a particular concept. I ask a lot of questions to get the students thinking. I believe in teaching young people and the adults I have worked with to think critically fist. Then I work with them on being able to articulate and write their ideas down...subject matter follows naturally if they have the confidence and can just think for themselves not just spit back facts and what others want to hear. I would travel and relocate for a job.
I have worn many hats and done many things that all apply to the classroom and teaching young people. I believe that education is the key to life and living. But a person has to believe they can do it first and I believe everyone can learn and should be given the opportunity
