I completed a BA in English from Union University in 2003. I tutored and proofread for other university students and contributed most of the writing for the yearbook my senior year. I began working in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions upon graduation and have been responsible for editing and revising the recruitment material we mail out each fall. I also worked as a substitute teacher during my time in college. I have not been employed yet just as tutor, but tutoring is a perfect culmination of my skills and love for students.
The challenge of teaching is the constant upheaval of technique due to the myriad of personalities and backgrounds which make up the typical classroom. With fifteen years of college-level teaching experience, I have taught numerous sections of Freshman Composition, Literature, Business Writing, and Preparatory Writing. I enjoy working with students, giving them insights into the potential rewards that await those who improve their written communication skills. With this in mind, I currently teach courses at two colleges, developing students' abilities to further their eduction--and their life success.
