A Little Bit About Me...

I am 17 years old and I love working with and teaching kids. I have experience with teaching a bible group for second graders at my church, and I know how to get your child excited about the many things they can accomplish by learning. I am a senior in high school and have a GPA of 3.7. I have taken AP classes and 4 years of Spanish. My best academic subjects are math, science, and reading. I've either taught or tutored in some form or fashion for over 17yrs now. I've had ages 3yrs to 22yrs old covering all manner of subjects and hobbies. One of my most rewarding experience was with an 18 year old special needs 10th grader ready to drop out of school. We met 2-3x a week for 6mths. In that time he raised his GPA from 1.2 to 2.7. He completed his 10th grade year and went on to take and pass the G.E.D. the following year.

Do you need an advanced tutor?

My teaching style depends on the student, it is adaptable. Some people are more visual, others are more lecture type, it all depends on the person.
Experience tutoring MS, PhD, post-doctoral, or resident-interns in the medical field. I also have tutored established PE type engineers and MBAs for executive type presentations. Have tutored high school and undergrad as well. The teaching style is adaptable, but I prefer tutor either in a university library, coffee house, or classroom environment.

I believe the true way to teach is to make a connection for each student: relate the material to something the student already knows. A more “hands-on” approach will allow the student to learn faster with greater retention. I feel that every student has the ability to learn, and that it is the teacher’s job to provide each student with the connection.
