My job as an educator is to teach them how to learn it and make them want to learn it. I personally do not believe that negative reinforcement is beneficial. The greatest benefit of teaching, to me, is seeing the look in a child's eyes when he or she finally reaches that understanding of what you are teaching them. The challenge of finding a new way to help a child reach this understanding is what drives me to teach. These "quizzes" aren't to punish the students; I use them to assess the needs of the students and the strengths and weaknesses of my teaching methods.
