Spanish is one of my top subjects! I have been studying Spanish for about 7 years now, along with having first-hand experience in using the language while studying in Valencia, Spain. I have a great passion for foreign languages and I love teaching those who want to learn as well.

Beginning with the basic classes, I have had more than 7 years of experience in studying foreign languages, and I developed a passion for them ever since. Currently I am in my last year at Kent State University, where I am earning my Bachelor´s Degree in Spanish Translation, along with a specialty in International Relations. Mandarin Chinese has also been an important part of my college education. In the spring of 2014, I was fortunate enough to study abroad in Valencia, Spain, where I spent 6 months taking intensive language and translation courses, as well as getting a first-hand experience in using the language with native speakers.

My comments on tutoring Spanish : Hello! I am a student at The University of Akron. I came to America 2 years ago and I am from Spain! Spanish is my first language and many people asked for help during the past two years and they got really good grades with my help. There's no better way to learn Spanish than talking to me!

I am from Spain and I lived there the past 18 years. I had being tutoring for two years here in Ohio. All my students got really good grades. Moreover, my theory is that you cannot learn a language by reading a book but talking and having a conversation. Since I am an education major, I know how to plan lessons and I can help you with your Spanish very fast.

In January of 2008, I was hired to work at the University of Akron – Wayne College Learning Center as a peer tutor. We are responsible for helping students that come in seeking tutoring (including test preparation and homework help). Over the past two plus years, I have tutored students in mathematics (college level basic math 1 through calculus one) and chemistry. It was in my senior year at UConn that I learned about a program called City Year that enables young people as myself to work within the realm of urban education. As a City Year corps member, I was able to work both inside the classroom and after school with a group of 22 ninth grade boys at Glenville High School in Cleveland. Not only was I able to do in-class tutoring with these adolescents, but I was also able to to mentor them by encouraging them to do the right thing. Being so close in age to my students, I was further able to bridge the communication gap between these boys and their teachers.

I always try to start from "where the student is" and build on from starting point. I believe in positive reinforcement and that anything worth having in life requires consistent effort.
