I am an artist, teacher, writer, and designer. I have been creating art since the age of 5 years old. I received a scholarship from Memphis College of Art for my portfolio and artistic ability. I have been teaching art to inner-city youth for 6 years, teaching elementary and high school aged students. I have also spent the last 2 months giving private art lessons to a child at my church. I feel that I can relate to children because I am also a child at heart. I believe in constant verbal quizzing and repitition as a means to develop the child's ability to retain knowledge and call it forth at will. I have learned from past work experiences that all people learn differently be it either visual, kinetic (hands-on), or verbal (by listening). By learning the child's learning type you can tell which method appeals to them and can create a learning environment to encourage their growth at a faster rate. I also have a history in the theatrical arts and vocal music performance which can assist in grasping the child's attention during those times of relaxed focus.
