Shakespeare is one of my top subjects! Me thinks an expert of the shakesperean verse.

I started working at JCPS as a substitute teacher in 2000 at a high-at-risk high school. I then becamse an Instructional Assistant III and was accepted into an accelerated program with JCPS and Ky. State University to complete the program in two years for my certification. I have taught at an at risk middle school for two years, and high school for the past six. I have also tutored for the SOAR after school program for the past seven years but with the cuts last year, the after school NCLB organization I worked for closed. THerefore, I am open for scheduling my own clients. I can provide many refereences of students parents that I tutored for more than one years consequtvely by request. Shakespeare is one of my top subjects! Masters Degree in English and American Literature from the University of California, San Diego. Studied Shakespeare at both the undergrad and graduate level. While an undergrad, studied at Oxford University in England focuing on Medieval and Renaissance texts, and read a number of his plays. Also attended a production of The Tempest by the RSC. In addition, one of my four portfolio papers for the MA was a comparative analysis of the role of the forest in Shakespeare's As You Like It, a theme which evolves in meaning over the years of the play's popularity and production. Extensive hands-on classroom instuction with first year college students, would be suitable for junior and senior high school instruction as well.

I have a B.A. in English and History from Marquette University in Miwaukee, Wisconsin. I believe in studying those subjects which are of greatest interest to me, and I have always had a strong passion for literature as an expression of who we are in this world and who we want to be. Literature is the exploration of our human condition, and I have always wanted to learn more about how those before us experienced their world. I started tutoring in 2009 through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana. I tutor my "Little" for an hour once a week. I help with whatever subject they need. My specialty is Language Arts, but if you need help with basic math, I can do that too. I have observed many elementary, middle school, and high school classes. I know what works best, especially since I'm going to become a high school language arts teacher in a few years.
