I love the one on one interaction a tutor has with the students. I believe all children have a unique style of learning and we need to help them find their own way of learning. For example some kids are visual learners, while others are hearing learners. My work as a tutor is to see which method is the best for them. I am very patience with my students. I traveled for a year with a family and home-schooled their 3 children. The children were in 1st grade, kindergarten, and pre-school and were seriously below grade level in math and reading. In that year, I brought those children beyond grade level in reading skills and comprehension as well as math skills. A Little Bit About Me...

I recalled my difficulties in learning difficult subjects, my difficulties are not universal but I draw from them in finding what is blocking the student from grasping certain concepts. I recall teaching my children at a very early age the concept of ratios. I used windows, tiles from the kitchen, a pizza pie etc. This, before going to pencil and paper and it worked. Till this day they know fractions inside and out because they understood the concept in real life. This is typically my approach, then we can go and do problems in the abstract on paper.
