Reach One Teach One

Teaching is not only my passion but my calling. Having had the opportunity to teach both fifth and second grade specializing in reading I have learned very helpful techniques. I have also taught inclusion which has definitely strengthened my ability to differentiate instruction and to teach across the curriculum . Education has always been one of my greatest facinations. I achieved a BA in English grammars, a MLA in creative writing, and fifteen credits towards a PhD in literature and literary criticism. I discovered the writing center at my undergraduate university and became a tutor immediately. I found that I was in a position to learn just as much at the students I tutored. Over the past twelve years, I have continued that facination with learning in voluntary tutoring sessions.
I believe in the program of teaching across the curriculum. As a teacher to be, I believe that students are much more willing to participate in writing goood papers when it is in a subject that has meaning for them. Teaching is not a job for me, it is what defines me. I have been teaching for over 13 years and still desire to do nothing else.
