I assisted ESL students in various academic subjects since middle school. My first official tutoring position start in the fall 2007, where I tutored students in college-level French and high-school math. My studies abroad in France allowed me to become fluent in the language. In addition to offering private lessons, I have also taught Chinese Schools on the weekends for over 4 yrs. I try to avoid lecture in teaching. For me, personally, instruction comes from helping the student understand the material on their own without having to directly be told everything. This comes through in creative exercises that help the student to understand the concept better and to hold onto the idea much easier.
