I find this very important because many physics books and instructors put too much emphasis on the mathematics and not enough on conveying the physical concepts. The result is a student who is unable to solve physics problems. First, the student must know the physical concept which then enables them to apply the correct mathematics in order to solve the problem. Most of my students are at-risk or attention deficit students, so I employ a style where I emphasize a good set of basic skills and knowing why we use the techniques we utilize. Most of my methods are visual and I emphasize laying down the structure of the solution when useful. I always tell why each step is used.
