A Little Bit About Me...

I love to work with children of all ages. It is the most rewarding job, watching the children grow and learn. I love being part of the learning process and the way children get so excited when they learn a new skill or master one they have been trying hard to achieve. I believe that all children learn differently and as a teacher it is important to find what works best for the individual child.
As a parent of two children ages 3 and 8 i have had first hand experience in tutoring and teaching. I have also worked at Head Start for 5 years. One of the advantages of my background is the variety of people I have worked with. Regardless of different cultures, races, socioeconomic backgrounds and ages, I have the unique ability to connect with people in a language they understand. I utilize this ability to teach by analogy, as many of the things I teach and tutor others on involve complex subjects that the student usually has no direct experience in. I have earned a BA and an MA, both in Physics with a focus on education, but opted to take all of my electives in Math and Earth Science, which has enabled me to have a further reaching range of abilities.
