I am a certified science teacher currently working full time with experience in grades 7-12. I have taught astronomy to 12th graders, 9th grade earth science and 7-8th grade science. I am a firm believer that all children can learn if given every option to be successful. In order to achieve success, students should be surrounded with tools to help them learn and a positive learning environment is key. Over the past 10 years I have had the pleasure of tutoring over 150 children. While receiving a Teacher Education Certificate, Human Services A.S. and a Sociology B.A., I have committed myself to scholastic excellence. In my work with The Boy's and Girl's Club, Americorps, Y.M.C.A. and the Hispanic Outreach Center I have completed more than 1000 tutoring session; in over 50 Schenectady Schools, community programs and public libraries.
