In Teaching students of all races and nationalities over the past 28 years the rewards have been fantastic. Teaching History for 21 years, Special Education, Severe Profound, and GED. My track record has been excellant. I feel that all students can learn. In public education today I feel students are more than just test scores. Each student is an individual with individual needs with different modes of learning. Parental help is critical. I have worked with children of many different ages and backgrounds, and have learned something from each and every one of them. My hope is that I have not only provided them with academic instruction and learning experiences that will prove beneficial to them, but that I have also instilled in them a love for learning that will last a lifetime and people skills that will allow them to be conscientious, contributing members of society.
I am a high school honors graduate with a BA in English and teacher certification in English, Spanish, psychology, and special education. I am national board certified in special education. A Little Bit About Me...

I have discovered that every students is capable of achieving greatness if someone will take the time and effort to learn their learning style. I pride myself in being able to break things down to the most basic levels if necessary in order to reach a student. Often you have to know a child's personality, background, and home life in order to understand what he or she relates to. I don't believe in teaching a subject, I believe in teaching a student. I also do not believe in giving up. If the first method doesn't work then we will continue to try until something clicks and that child grasps the material and excels at it.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love to learn, and love passing that on to others. I am a patient personality, and I may present a problem to a student to evaluate where they are. From there, we can go either backwards or to more advanced work. Education is very important for myself and for my children, and I like to instill that learning takes you further in life than where someone may have not even dreamed. I am amazed at seeing cashiers who can't make simple change, or someone who can't calculate a small percentage in their head, such as 10% of a number.
