I currently tutor a 9 year old and a 13 year old, both for reading and writing. I've taken early childhood education courses before, and worked hands on in a preschool, in which I put together lesson plans and taught to the class. I'm also the oldest of five, and grew up with a big family. My younger brother and sisters (ranging from 4-19 years old) are my absolute best friends, and one of the main reasons that I have such a love for children. I've worked as a lifeguard, so I am CPR knowledgeable (no longer "certified), and have even held various babysitting jobs in the past. As I streamlined accounting processes for the businesses I worked for, I wrote procedures and trained personnel on every level across every department both in the U.S., Singapore and China. I tutored my children in math due to the inept teachers in the public school system---up through algebra one. I have worked one on one with students in reading, english, memorization, study habits and math up through 7th grade.
I really enjoy working one on one. When a student masters a skill, it is very rewarding. Every student learns differently and they have a tendency toward either kinetic, hearing or sight.
