As part of my education program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, I was required to complete a full, yearlong internship. I interned from August-October in a 2nd grade classroom and from October-May in a 3rd grade classroom, Monday-Friday. I went from "student teacher" to co-teacher and my mentor and I would divide the day equally on who taught what. Also, as a part of my internship, I completed and presented an Action Research project which focused on writing in 3rd grade.
I have a passion for teaching and working with children. I feel that children are like unpainted canvases and teachers have the ability to help them realize the value of education. Education is priceless and it is something that no one can take away from you.
