My comments on tutoring Elementary : I teach first grade

I have taught in the public schools for 14 years in grades Kindergarten and First. I have taught English speaking children as well as Hispanic children whose first language is Spanish. I am ESOL endorsed. I also taught at an IB school for 5 years at which time I taught the Primary Years Curriculum. My comments on tutoring Elementary : My major, what I am getting my major degree in.

I am very energetic, extremely patient, but I also will not accept back talking, lying, texting on your phone, or any inappropriate behavior while I am working as your teacher. Your ability to learn material will be greatly increased by exposure to critical decision making steps as you work problems. I will guide students to these steps as efficiently as possible and wait for a rigorous effort from the student. This will result in either a correct approach or an inappropriate or incorrect approach.
