If your child struggles in reading or math I am here to help

I have volunteered in a school district for just over 3 years and when I do volunteer I assist children in the classroom who have problems in their reading and math. By assisting these students they have improved on their tests as well as gaining confidence in their learning. I work really well one on one with the child who needs such assistance but also in small groups. If needed to assist a child online it can be done as long as there are materials available for the child that is provided by the school.

Learning is serious, but that doesn't mean it has to be grim

I have a Texas Teaching Certificate for K-8, all subjects. In addition to teaching elementary school I taught courses at the University of Texas in Austin in the undergraduate teacher education program. I supervised dozens of student teachers at UT, and have spent the past 17 years conducting professional development for educators (teachers, curriculum directors, principals and superintendents) in the field.
I encourage higher order thinking, and help students learn to become self-directed and independent. With over 20 years experience as an educator I have taught, tutored, and trained students from pre-school to adults. I hold an MA in Education and Counseling, a BA in Socialpsychology and an AA in Early Childhood Education. and two teaching credentials - k-8 and adult.
