I am currently a student at the School of Visual Arts NYC (fine arts major). I am also an alum of a visual arts magnet school in Connecticut. Drawing, painting and sculpting are my best subjects because of my experience learning from working artists in New Haven, Ct and New York. This often results in a personal, in-depth level of conversation normally not available to most students. I would have to say that my teaching style is flexibility. I believe that it is necessary to gauge your students as a group and individually before deciding on which teaching methods would be most effective. I believe that naturalistic teaching is important. I also believe in a form of discrete trial training. It takes some of the basics from Discrete Trial and adapts them to fit the needs of the students that are struggling with certain subjects. Research has proven that all students learn differently and lessons cannot be taught primarily through auditory learning.
