After graduating college I taught elementary K-8th grade in NYC. I taught for one year and decided to live Paris, France teaching English. I lived in Paris, France for 1.5 years then moved to Rome, Italy, again teaching English. My experiences were wonderful as I met people who really enjoyed learning English and needed it for work. After 6 months I returned to the states and taught at a Junior High School on the Lower eastside of NYC. I left teaching after 10 years to market computers. I received a technology degree in 1975. Several years later I returned to college to persue a Physics/Mechanical Engineering Degree from SUNY New Paltz and RPI. I was an "A" student in Physics and enjoyed tutoring many classmates. I was a guest lecturer several times at RPI. Due to work and family commitments I did not complete the degree. My wife and I homeschooled our children through the primary grades. I taught sciences. While an Employee at IBM, I wrote and taight technical courses. A Little Bit About Me...

For writing, usually I conduct some exercises. The level of the critique and what to say depends heavily on the age of the student. For grammar, I would either find or create my own practice materials and we could go over whatever is necessary until I've decided that the student is making improvements or the student has succeeded.
Over the past year, I have tried to extend my ability to share my love and appreciation of English and literature with others. As an English/Communications major, I am very knowledgable in a variety of subjects including grammar, writing composition and reading comprehension. A Little Bit About Me...

I am an avid writer of short stories and poetry, as well as song lyrics. I am an excellent public speaker and earned an A in this subject in college. I have been told I have a way with words, and have become the "walking dictionary" for family and friends. I have published a book of poetry from beiginning to end, without the help of a publishing company. I also have experience being a mom's helper to two autistic boys ages 3 and 5.
I really enjoy kids and helping them to think highly of themselves above all. I do not have any direct teaching experience, however I have done many hours of volunteering at my former church. Kids take to me. I know how to talk to them, without talking down to them.
