My time in the Ivy League and legal world has cemented a desire to help youth enter the professional sphere via strong academic performance. I am a very participative facilitator. I like to actively engage the students with the subject matter at hand, bringing into the discussion real world experiences and tapping into the experiences of the students in order to "bring the message home". I first seek to understand the students' goals and objectives, strengths and weaknesses and go from there. It frequently requires modifying content and rate of teaching based on the students' learning levels. My reward is watching the students grow and learn and experience the students' realization of learning the concepts. I stumbled upon the joy of teaching as I helped others learn to dive recreationally in my early 20’s. When I began my real estate career, I worked primarily with first time home buyers, whom I educated constantly. With the housing market collapse my desire to instruct in this manner grew as I segued into the insurance industry, and was given an opportunity to open a branch office and personally train over 50 agents in a one on one capacity over the course of two years. I still currently educate a class of insurance agents every few weeks on the complexity of products available to individuals in the market, and how to sell them, while sharing a few life lessons along the way.
