I start off with the student displaying what they know and/or don't know. I give an example and and encourage feedback in order to guage the student's understanding. Finally, I have the student to show their understanding. Sometimes, it may take different methods because people learn differently.
I have had over 15 years of tutoring and/or teaching experience. I have worked with different age groups, my preferred and primary being adults. I just recently graduated with my Master's Degree in Biomedical Sciences from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, Georgia. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Biology with a Chemistry Minor in May 2007 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I enjoy the sciences very much. As a college student I am still striving for my goal and dream of becoming a veterinarian. I have always been a mentor in my community and willing to help others where they need help. A Little Bit About Me...

I try to find out the learning style of the person I am teaching and use that as my primary teaching style. Some people learn better by hearing, some by reading or seeing and some by doing. I think focusing on the style that the person prefers to learn and then backing it up with the other styles to reinforce what they have learned is the best way for the student to retain the information. I think it is important to include all 3 styles no matter which way the person learns best because they need to be able to learn in the style their other teachers use as well.
