A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching science and critical thinking skills. I like working with all ages, and am flexible with my teaching style based on who I am working with. Again I have been informally tutoring in Sciences for years, both in college with my fellow pre-medical students and throughout high school as well. I would love to work with children younger than me and get a feel for that. I am very patient though pretty demanding at the same time.
I am a Pre-medical and Philosophy Student who recently graduated from Northwestern University. I have been an A-student all my life, and I have been teaching science and liberal arts subjects to my classmates and colleagues for years. I also have a research background with Northwestern Medical School and love working with kids and trying to help others learn. I always find myself trying to lead others to figure out material on their own as a I set guidelines for them as they do so. I believe this is the best way for them to learn the material. I do not like to tell my students the answers, inhibiting them from thinking things through. I try to find different ways of teaching material in order to keep them motivated, as well.
I am a recent graduate of kennesaw State University, with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. I believe that I am competent in various areas of biology and chemistry, and will be able to convey that competence. I have taught and tutored at my church and in other volunteer programs since high school. I also currently give drum lessons at a Stephen's Music Company.

My German parents spoke (so-called "high", or proper) German at home in NY/NJ, which came in handy after we moved overseas when I was 13. Repeating 7th grade, I learned to read and write German fluently, as well as master the local dialects and sundry colloquialisms without a lingering accent. Doing so allowed me mask my heritage, enroll in higher education, and learn a trade, culminating in a long and rewarding all-encompassing painting career abroad and in the eastern US, before settling in Texas to explore telecommunications. I widely regard the world as a large classroom/laboratory.
My teaching style with my own children is conversational, hands-on, and intuitive. I explore what most captures their attention, then weave in the lessons by using any available teaching aids, such as whiteboard drawings, to illustrate a point, literally.

I like working with students.i think that a tutor should review over the day to day lesson (course)with the student, practice the application and then treat the tasks with the gradual difficulties. The patience and the repetition are the keys of a successful tutoring.I think that the tutor must develop a certain feeling and a logic from his student towards the maths(base of the science). The achievement is to step the student into the teacher`s shoes in ... read more
