I have worked with students who were given up on years before, but once the met me, they evolved and became what so many said they never would become, educated.Vgotsky talked about the zone of proximal development and potential. I am a college student who has taken calculus, calculus II, and multi-variable calculus. I have recieved A's in all of these classes and consider myself to be very capable of teaching high school level mathematics. My major is currently declared as Studio Art with a concentration in woodworking. I initially began study as an engineer and completed the first year of classes before deciding to pursue Studio Art with an intention to attend architecture school down the road. I still have an interest in both Engineering and Computer Programming, but such areas are currently more of a hobby than an expected profession. I have always tutored friends and peers in mathematics. I spent the last year helping one of my good friends learn calculus and have volunteered as a tutor at Falmouth High School in Falmouth, Maine in order to help students learn algebra.
