A Little Bit About Me...

I am devoted to the Socratic method. Teaching with leading questions allows my students to formulate within their own minds the connections necessary to grasp the concepts we are addressing. There is no greater joy than seeing the light in a student's eyes when he or she makes that crucial crossover from external facts to internal understanding. Also, I am firmly convinced that education is a social process in which both teacher and student participate, and from which both learn. Working with a motivated student is invigorating to me.

A Little Bit About Me...

Although I value my college degree in biology and formal education, my real love for learning and teaching has been honed over the years teaching my own kids at home. I've homeschooled them in every general subject for the last eight years. I have developed a love and knowledge for history, government, the sciences, writing, and mathematics up through algebra.
