I have earned my bachelor degree from College of New Jersey. I have been on the Dean's List twice in my three years at college. Even though it was a four year degree I graduated in three years. This college gave me the skills and understanding in elementary education and I was employed three months after graduation. I have taught Kindergaten thru Fourth grade with special needs students. I have also tutored during the summer months.
I have taught for six years and have loved every minute of teaching. It is a joy to see children enjoying the love of learning. I beleive all children can be taught, but each in his or her own way. I have been either a student or a teacher for most of my life. I have experience in a wide variety of settings with a wide variety of students. I started my teaching career in the primary grades, teaching first and second graders. I have experience working with adult students in a correctional setting and at the college level. I'm currently a teacher in and adult education program, working with ABE, ESL and GED students.
I think it is extremely important to understand different learning AND teaching styles. A teacher cannot present material in the same way every day. Some students can learn listening to a lecture. Some may prefer reading material. And yet others need more of a hands-on approach.
