A Little Bit About Me...

I love math. I find it fun, challenging, and very interesting. When I tutor students, I try to portray my excitement for the subject so they see that it is not intimidating and so they are more willing to work to solve a problem. My hight school math teacher encouraged me by her passion and I have taken that into how I tutor and help others.
As a mathematics major, I worked in the math lab all four years of my college experience. I would tutor others with their math and help students study for exams. I have also tutored in junior high settings and this past summer I tutored a young girl in 7th grade math. I have also tutored while in high school.

I always try to involve students in the lesson a great deal and to make sure that they are answering many questions throughout the lesson. This helps the student to be able to focus and learn and it helps me to know whether they understand. I like to use a variety of examples and demonstrations of the concepts and for students to try a few problems on their own. A Little Bit About Me...

As a mechanical engineer I have a large amount of technical experience. I would love an opportunity to be share my understanding and enthusiasm of math and science with students. Although I have never had a official tutoring position, I have helped many of friends and family with their math and science course work throughout high school and college.
My teaching style is to try make a confusing or intimidating subject matter such calculus or physics more understandable and approachable. I do this by breaking down the confusing topic into smaller and simpler sub-topics and showing how these sub-topics build into the final subject they are trying to comprehend.
