A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching college level mathematics since 2007. Previously, was manager of a Mathnasium and provided instruction to children in mathematics from K-12. I was able to successfully tutor many high school aged students while earning my Ph.D. I am currently teaching at the University of Cincinnati at Blue Ash. I have taken education classes at Northern Kentucky University. At one point, I was considering on being a Art Teacher. I didn't finish with that path, but I did gain much experience with children and knowledge during that time in working with students. I have worked and studied special needs children as well. I still consider going back for a Master's at some point in education. I think this job would be beneficial in my goals, and for my students, and a great learning experience for us both.
I am not overbearing. I am laid back, but at the same time, I make sure that the student learns what he/she needs to learn. I am very patient. I try to respect the student and not make learning seem like a chore. Building a foundation of learning skills, even during a short tudoring session can really change a student's approach in all of their classes.

Having graduated with a BS in Mathematics I am now continuing my passion for learning while pursuing a masters degree in Nurse Anesthesia. My liberal arts degree from Hillsdale College has given me extensive work in all areas of learning. Gaining and sharing knowledge has been a driving force throughout my life. Literacy is one of the greatest gifts we can give to our children. As a University of Cincinnati Graduate, I have really taken interest in giving back to those that are in need. Nursing is my passion and educating my patients and families on the importance of good health and wellbeing is truly my priority. Although I have dealt mostly with young adults to the elderly, I have also helped out with elementary age students.
