A Little Bit About Me...

I propone an exploratory, learn-by-doing philosophy regarding education; I believe that students are best served producing their own inquiries (guided by an educator), and then seeking resolution through gathering information. I have had a passion for education since I was a third grade student. I always thought I wanted to be a teacher "when I grew up." Linda Albert's model of "Cooperative Discipline" first began to intrigue me when I was introduced to her model in on of my Education courses. I agree whole-heartedly in her approach, which is based around the idea that helping students feel capable and connected will encourage them to contribute to their class and be successful. I find that my aspiration to be a teacher grows stronger through the knowledge that I have the ability to make students feel capable and connected.
