I write with great enthusiasm to apply for the position of Tutor. I recently graduated from Gettysburg College Magna Cum Laude earning my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Neuroscience. I have previous experience working as a Clinician/Tutor for Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, providing one-on-one instruction to students and implemented programs that provided effective treatment for dyslexia, hyperlexia, autism, and other learning disabilities. Further, I have years of experience volunteering as a tutor, instructing students of all ages (including high school) in various subjects. I was a graduate assistant at YSU for a year during my Masters degree.I taught engineering and mathematics coursework and gave exam papers. I also corrected/checked exam papers. I completed my Masters degree in Mechanical engineering. Because of this exposure I am excellent with teaching Mathematics, algebra, advanced mathematics and also physics, chemisty and biology for elementary, middle and high school level. I have mentored new hires in 2008 for my job as a support analyst. I taught and presented all the material face to face and also online. As a psychology major I was fascinated with how the mind works in all arenas. I learned the various methodologies used in teaching people and found in my tutoring that finding a way to present even the most difficult material in a manner to make it understandable is greatly satisfying. Through tutoring and teaching others I gained a higher comprehension of the material at hand and learned more about both myself and people in general. I firmly believe that there's no such thing as an idea or topic that can not be taught to someone who wants to learn regardless of academic leveling. For as long as I can remember I have loved to learn. Through college I tutored in psychology, english, the arts, statistical math, and certain classifications of sciences. My favorites were psychology and english because of the freedom you can give due to interpretaional material.

After graduating in 1978 with a chemical engineering degree, I was recruited by BFGoodrich Chemical Group. I have 13 years experience in manufacturing: capital budgeting and appropriations requests, energy reduction, quality improvements, scheduling and raw material ordering. I also managed the environmental program, assuring compliance with all environmental regulations and reporting. Both my children were born with developmental delays. I aggressively researched the public law requiring an appropriate education for all and was involved in assuring so. My daughter was mainstreamed before kindergarten and have been extremely successful. My son has also done well with grades although his Asperger's Disorder continues to pose challenges. I am very familiar with learning differences and have great patience in dealing with others.
