A Little Bit About Me...

I have two different teaching styles depending on whether I am in a preschool setting or middle school type setting. I enjoy a very positive an inviting atmosphere where my students are comfortable while creating a community of learners. I have a strong sense of authority that is initially established, coming from such a young age. I do not expect any more from one student than I would another. Difference through learners is the most beneficial way a teacher can bring change in the classroom. I feel that it is essential to teach my students that it is acceptable to agree to disagree.

I graduated summa cum laude with a BSBA finance degree from the University of Central Missouri. I am currently an MBA student studying finance as my concentration discipline. As a part of my degree programs I have taken nine undergraduate credit hours in accounting and three graduate hours in accounting. Through these degree programs I have extensive experience in math, statistics, and analytical problem solving. During my time in college I have tutored many of my class mates, friends, and acquaintences in the areas of accounting, finance, economics, and algebra.

I also have one and a half years of experience tutoring introductory physics to early college-level students. As a parent of two school-aged children I have had the oppurtunity to learn about the newest teaching methods employed by teachers at this time. We often work together on math and science. I am currently working on my teaching certification in middle school science, but have always been had excelent aptitude for mathmatics. I also substitute in the Blue Springs, Grain Valley and Fort Osage School district in which I often assist students with work that has been left for them by the teacher, whether it be math, science or english.
