A Little Bit About Me...

I have a BA in Microbiology and an MA in Zoology. I have 7-8 years experience teaching biology, ecology, microbiology and environmental science at the college level. In addition I have many years experience in software engineering, technical writing, software quality assurance, and technical editing.
In the classroom I rely on traditional lecture, supplemented by Powerpoint presentations, animations, and lists and diagrams on the white board. I usually assign a research paper. In the last few semesters I've implemented through Blackboard some online testing, as well as tutorial "homework" quizzes, where the students get feedback directing them to coverage of particular sections of the text. I have been teaching at the Community College. I have students that range in age from 17 years old to 55 years old. I am enjoying teaching very much and would like to add to the teaching I do. I also taught for one year at the Tri City Christian Academy in Somersworth, NH. In that class I had students ranging in age from 11 years old to 18 years old. I have a BA in French from the University of Southern Maine. I am currently finishing my Master of Arts in Teaching French through the University of Maine. I love the language and feel that I pass on this love to my students.
