My teaching style is based on the belief that children perform well academically when given an opportunity to learn in their own unique way. In particular, I have worked with students with receptive-language difficulties, ADHD, and oppositional behavior. In my teaching, I have tried to implement techniques that involve repetition, visual cues, and creativity to enhance students' academic performance. I believe each student has the potential to advance when given the appropriate tools. For example, I try to use lively stories and cue cards to enhance phonemic awareness of the long and short vowel sounds and consonant sounds as well as basic sight words. I now work as a Special Education Teacher in New Hampshire. I teach English for freshman students at the high school level.

My skills, which I learned in the Education Bachelor's degree program at the University of Connecticut, emphasize the development of critical thinking and clear expression in student work. My experience includes working with struggling students in every area, from Advanced Placement to non-traditional learners, so I incorporate many different methologies to help students succeed. At the University of Massachusetts I exceled in Math and Science classes. I orginally planned on being a Math major but chenged course after taking an Environmental policy class. As a law student, I have been committed to the public interest. I have focused my attenion on environmental issues. During law school, I worked weekends at the Save the Bay Exploration Center teaching childern and adults about marine life. Since I moved back to New Hampshire I have continued volenteering as a science educator at a local Science Center twice a week.
