I think teaching style should depend on the student. Some people move at different paces or learn better from listening or from doing the work themselves with supervision and help. I am flexible with any style and once I become familiar with a person it becomes easier to see how they learn best.
I have been attending Northern Illinois University for the past 3 years and so far have had a great experience. I am double majoring in Spanish and geography and have had good success in both subject areas with a cumulative GPA of 3.95. They are both interests of mine and I have definitely improved during my time at NIU. I think I am qualified to share what I've learned with others who need help in either area and really enjoy working with people.

I also taught basic health lessons to adult women in developing nations such as India and Uganda. I have been a substitute teacher for elementary, middle, and high school students in the Arlington Independent School District in Texas. I supervised a grant funded tutoring program for refugee children going to school in the Fort Worth Independent School District. I paired tutors with classrooms and students and gave them teaching material. All of the students were learning English as a second or third language. The courses I taught (Composition I and II) required me to know the mechanics of English (grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc.) as well as various forms of writing (narrative, expository, compare/contrast, cause/effect, research-supported, etc.).
