I am in my sixth year of teaching high school mathematics in Rural West Tennessee. I am currently teaching Geometry, and I have also taught Algebra 1 and Bridge Math. I am certified and highly qualified to teach all content areas for Grades 9-12, as well as middle school mathematics. While I was working on my masters degree, I was a Graduate Teaching Assistant for The Reading Center at The University of Tennessee at Martin. I am a stickler for proper sentence structure, grammar, and spelling; I believe that a command of written English can open doors in life which appeared previously to be intractably sealed, and can create either employment or advancement opportunities which might not otherwise have been possible. An obvious example is how a well-written resume and cover letter will many times make all the difference in whether or not you find yourself in front of the interviewer. Our society seems to be losing its affection for the written word, both reading it and composing it, and I have enjoyed the privilege over many years of helping willing individuals refine and sharpen their use of language to express themselves more clearly and accurately.
