I have tutored three students: two middle school students in math, one high school student in AP biology. I also occasionally explain academic subjects to my friends and classmates. Through my years of experience, I've found that it is most effective to make sure the students are really thinking. When they get stuck, I ask them questions to point them in the right direction, but I almost never give them the answer unless a lot of time would be wasted otherwise. I'm also very good at catching mistakes, but instead of pointing them out right away, I usually also ask them leading questions to help them find the mistake on their own.

Unique Tutor

Substitue teacher and esl tutor for the past 4 years. I worked with various classes from Algebra to IEP classes and ESL, from Science to Social studies and everything in between. I taught classes and did not hand out worksheets. My rules in class were, you dont waste a class period. I used litle tricks to make sure they did not waste time and actually learned from me. My students often come up to me when they see me in public to say I was their favorite sub. I started off in Art Education as a major but left to go into Marketing. My comments on tutoring Biology : I have taught biology and tutored in Biology for several years. I have advanced many of my students at my current teaching position into Biology with an 11 month student growth.

I have been working with the school system for several years. I am currently teaching a fourth/fifth grade split. A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at The Ohio State Medical Center. I have earned a bachelor degree, BS in Biology, a masters degree, MS in biochemistry and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
