The trumpet is a member of the brass instrument family. It has 3 valves and is a transposing instrument. Most trumpets are in the key of B flat which means a C played on the trumpet sounds like a D played on the piano. It reads treble clef and has an instrument range from F sharp below middle C to C two octaves above middle C. Skilled trumpet players can play even higher notes. I am from Somerset, NJ, and I started playing piano when I was in middle school. For 13 years, I've continued to play and pursue my career in music education. I've taught children as young as four years old to adult students as well. For adults, it's never too late to learn a new skill.  It has been my passion and goal in life to share with others the joy that I got from learning music. I was born in the Soviet Union. At age of twelve start participating in School’s orchestra. After finishing High school I was admitted to Kiev’s Glier musical College, which I finished with distinction, and get Bachelors degree as a clarinet and saxophone player, as well as conductor of brass bands. I was a teacher in musical school and a leader in numerous small jazz bands. In 1977 me and my family immigrated to United States where I continue playing In orchestras and participates in a small quartets. In general, I believe that the more I can get the student to talk and ask questions the better. If I'm doing all the talking, then most likely the student is either bored or confused - or both. Also, as much as possible, I try to tailor my methods to the particular student. This can mean speaking in a way that I think is most natural to the student. It can also mean asking the student to explain a problem in his/her own words so that I know he/she is not just parroting the textbook. Whenever possible, I try to teach different methods to solve any particular math problem in order to find the one that works best for the student.
