Learning "glitches", different learning styles, and a fear of being wrong often contribute to the problem. I try to discern how the student is thinking about the work, and then I use a variety of techniques to guide him/her to understanding. My comments on tutoring Government : I have my B.A. in History and a minor in Philosophy from the University of Colorado. It would be juxtaposed if anyone claimed to understand government, but I consider myself well versed.

I am a newly grad from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs; I earned my B.A. in History and a minor in philosophy. As a Michigan resident, I was unable to find sny substantial work in the fiels of Social Work once I earned my BA degree. So, I worked in 3-4 school districts over a two year period before gaining full time work with the State. At the outset of the personal computer revolution I sold and supported Tandy computers. As part of the support function I instructed clients in the use of their computers. A whole new world blossomed for me. Teaching clients to use their computers turned out to be a long term and very rewarding experience. During my thirteen years as The Computer Tutor I encountered a multitude of student learning difficulties.
