Individualized learning/teaching for optimal comprehension

I take a hands on material approach to learning/teaching. I feel that young students learn best when they can physically learn, such as through blocks/puzzles/interactive learning devices and other similar approaches. I try to let the student use their hands as much as I can to aid in their learning process. For older students such as my high school students or their college counterparts I use more direct audial teaching and visual teaching styles. Every person learns differently, so I cater my teaching style to each individual learner.
I started tutoring in my teens helping young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders develop English and Math skills as well as speech therapy and public speaking. My approach to curriculum based or assignment based teaching may be slightly different (depending upon the understanding of the subject matter by the student), but I believe it should lead to the same result.
