A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of the State University of New York at Fredonia I am a highly qualified educator. Through the college I have several experiences working one on one with students, tutoring both math and literacy, as well as working with whole classrooms. Since receiving my Bachelor's degree in Education I have privately tutored third grade math. Additionally I have substituted in many different types of classrooms. I feel that I have an abundance of experience working with children in tutoring and classroom settings.

As a music student at SUNY Fredonia, one of the finest institutions for music in the Northeast, I gained a great deal of experience in music, but also in the liberal arts. SUNY Fredonia is an institution that specializes in well-rounded students. I have written several research papers, which have developed my keen knowledge of spelling, grammar, citation requirements, and writing techniques. I have tutored many students in music theory, and have proofread research papers, program notes for many a performance, and have also taught voice lessons extensively, which gives me a great deal of one-on-one experience. A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching and working with children not only educates them but it educates myself in the process. I get to touch up on materials that the children are learning, as well as learn better ways to educate students. Patience is what I believe is the most important aspect of teaching. Children can become unfocused very easily. When children are distracted it may be very difficult to get them focused. Taking your time and making sure they refocus, can actually save time. If they are unfocused and miss a part of what is instructed, they will be confused throughout the whole process. It helps to be patient with the educating process. These educators who take the time to make sure everything is understood make a huge difference in each student.
