A Little Bit About Me...

In regard to the method, I learned that each student has his or her own way to assimilate new material. This is why I try to create a balanced between a collaborative communication, audio- visual scenes, traditional class participation, and logical organization of the material. In regard to the foreign language, I saw that creating a real life situation in class make the student more involved and willing to make the effort to speak. In the meantime, I always insert a grammar rule as part of a reading and speaking of a certain subject. I found students are more receivable to this method as opposed to just lecturing grammar rule. I also found that they found it easier to remembering these rules by referring to the subject read or spoken. During this part, the grammar rules are explained, examples from the reading material are used, and students are encouraged to engage in an active discuss ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I did help my cousin and friends with language but I never did it b the USA yet. I do have a law degree back home in Morocco, but it wasn't approved in the USA because it was all in French language, so I had to restart here from zero and go to college and work at the same time. I like helping people, so it will be my measure to teach my knowledge with others that need help with the language

Arabic is one of my top subjects! Modern Standard, Levantine, and Iraqi Arabic Speaking, reading, and writing

Taught Modern Standard Arabic levels 101 & 102 (introductory) at the Ohio State University for three quarters, as well as the same classes at Columbus State Community College for nearly two years. Have tutored students in the past in Modern Standard and dialectical Arabic. I am fluent in Modern Standard, Levantine (Lebanese, Syrian, Jordanian, Palestinian), and Iraqi Arabic (which is also similar to Gulf region Arabic). Comfortable tutoring introductory, mid-level, and even advanced level Arabic depending on student's skill level.
I really enjoy teaching through a variety of games and activities. I think the student should do most of the talking, as it can get dull listening to my own voice all of the time. It is also important that the knowledge acquired is actually useful, so I like to know why a student is learning Arabic and where and how s/he plans to use it, in order to adapt ... read more

Arabic is one of my top subjects!

I use children’s books, audio, cards, and posters to present the material. In addition, I try to speak with the student for a certain period of time to make sure the listening ability is growing. I have no problem to go over the same material more than one time to make it clear. My strategy in life is that failure is not one of my options list and for that I will do anything to achieve my students’ goal in order for my for gain success.
Arabic is my first language because I grew up in Egypt. I studied Arabic throughout my education in elementary, middle and high school. In addition, I studied Arabic in college, which included but was not limited to: literary analysis, grammar, poetry, speech/public speaking, and professional writing. My second language is English and I will complete my Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a focus on International Business at W ... read more

I love the Arabic language. It is easy to learn. Enjoy it!

When I was still studying in the University, I used to teach in a private school. I taught my students for about two years. I also went to a teaching summer club. This club improved my teaching techniques. It taught me how to teach my students in a fun and easy way. When I used these methods, I noticed that my students started to like learning more and more.
When I teach, I do not like for my students to just sit, stare at me, and listen. I like to ask questions while I am teaching to make my students participate and understand better.
