My comments on tutoring Drawing : I have a degree in studio art and art history.

I like a very engaging style of teaching, using visuals or work sheets, charts, or picture to have hands on to help the participant learn. I am incredibly energetic when it comes to learning and want those I tutor and teach to succeed and enjoy the process of learning.

Drawing is one of my top subjects!

I usually start off teaching the student basic utensil knowledge and slowly branch into oils from acrylic, first with no color so they will learn to see temperature. After we will learn the importance of white and how to not overuse such a strong hue. After this we will work from still-lives and also self-portraiture.
I have been painting for 6+ years and am very willing to share my knowledge of the tricky medium to anyone willing to learn it. Oils are my forte however I've worked in most other mediums a time or two. My current work is fully abstract but I have plenty of images of works that show my technical expertise.

I have done school tutoring and some tutoring with younger family memebers who are dyslexic and who have ADHD. During my college career, I worked in lower income elementary schools to provide students an extra opportunity to heighten their reading skills through direct instruction. Through this experience I have gained new insight into teaching reading. I understand the importance of using small groups and one-on-one instruction. I begin by observing the person. In which areas are they confident and strong? In which areas are they fearful and using avoidance? I then find a bridge from their place of confidence to their place of fear and coax them across until they are happily skipping across.
